Gap celebrates the white tee with the launch of its new campaign. Called ‘Bridging the Gap’, the advertisements were made with creative direction by British Vogue editor-in-chief Edward Enninful. The diverse campaign stars a bevy of models and actresses including Alek Wek, Priyanka Chopra, Jasmine Sanders, Yara Shahidi, Christie Brinkley, Lineisy Montero, Fernanda Ly, Maria Borges, Ellen Rosa and Adwoa Aboah. Each lady wears a simple white tee as well as blue jeans in the studio snaps.

“I love the optimistic American style that Gap celebrates and the simplicity of the basic white t-shirt that allows you to be yourself,” says Enninful. “Growing up, I loved the imagery I saw from America as it celebrated being the land of the free and home of the brave. This project is about authenticity and people living their truths.”

Hermès Fortunio

Hermes

IMAGE: @WALNUTCRUST FOR HERMÈS

This bright cheery clutch from Hermes is an all-new bag (well, not exactly new since it is claimed that this design was inspired by another previously released in the 30s) that features a V-shaped clasp that actually looks like a fortune cookie if you ask us. Is that maybe why it is called the Fortunio?

And with the first colour launched in Orange Poppy (which in our opinion is the perfect shade for this summery June), the 29.5 cm by 19.6 cm Evercolor leather clutch is also rather sizeable so it will pretty much fit most of your everyday essentials within the two inner compartments, with space for a small notebook and writing materials for jotting down important notes (or sketching images) on the go.

This clutch has yet to hit our local stores, so stay tuned for more information. Otherwise, you could check the Hermès stores overseas if you’re travelling, where it retails at USD5900.

Fendi is taking the fashion world by storm with its recently concluded Resort 2018 Runway Collection. With fashionably bold colors such as vibrant fuchsia tones that never failed to give an instant WOW effect among the crowd, Karl Lagerfeld showcased a collection beaming with a lively pop attitude. To perfectly complement it’s tailoring, the Fendi Resort 2018 Runway Collection featured bags that lived up to the neon pop hype.

One of the bags that caught our attention would be this Fendi mini bucket bag in a bright mustard color. As you can see, the drawstring and the bag itself is in leather material while its strap features the F emblem, which is representative of the Italian brand. This bucket bag can be worn in several ways either by the hand, shoulder, or across the body.

Another bag which stood out the most from the collection would be this mini Peekaboo with a twist. Considered to be one of Fendi’s most popular bags, the Mini Peekaboo is a perfect everyday companion with its structured style. This time around, the Mini bag is seen sporting a scallop-designed edges with pearls of varying sizes placed in both sides for that extra classic chic effect.

2017 Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronomètre

Other Brands

Introduced at SIHH 2017, the new Parmigiani Fleurier Toric Chronomètre is a modern interpretation of the first watch that Michel Parmigiani designed in 1996. Paying homage to the founding design of Mr. Parmigiani, the Toric Chronomètre builds upon the aesthetic elements that have been the signature of the brand’s design philosophy since its inception. The Toric Collection’s identity lies in its simplicity and more conventional form than any of Parmigiani Fleurier’s other family of watches. Although, the Toric watches aren’t simple by any measure in terms of the horological complications and traditionally it has included the grandest complications of all the Parmigiani Fleurier collections. Nevertheless, the 2017 Toric Chronomètre is a resolutely sober watch that pays utmost attention to elegance.

Taking its name from its founder, watchmaker and restorer Michel Parmigiani, the fine watchmaking brand was founded in 1996 in Fleurier, in the Swiss valley of Val-de-Travers. With its own independent watchmaking center, the brand has both full control over the production process and unique creative freedom. For twenty years, the Parmigiani Fleurier signature has resided within timepieces that command utmost respect. From the very beginning, the unique bezel which alternates gadroons and knurling, has been Toric’s distinctive characteristic. Mr. Parmigiani has a great passion for architecture. He based the bezel’s design on the structure of a Doric column, the purest symbol of ancient Greek architecture. The bezel’s knurling, the Toric’s signature, is created by the only craftsman in Val-de-Travers to possess this skill and he has been working with Michel Parmigiani since 1996.

At 40.8mm wide and 9.5mm thick, the Parmigiani Fleurier’s Toric Chronomètre is a bit larger but the elegant case has been redesigned to sit more snugly on the wrist, making it more comfortable to wear. The curved contours not only add dynamism into the design but also made it more ergonomic. The crown has also been turned into a more imposing feature of the overall design. Parmigiani Fleurier offers the case in either 18k white or red gold and both the versions are available with either the black or white dial colors. The case encloses the COSC-certified PF331 proprietary caliber, whose components have all been painstakingly decorated. Comprised of 220 components, it features 32 jewels and a power reserve of 55 hours.

The dials are available in black opaline or a white grained version that bear an understated, textured finish created by brushing its surface with a mixture of salt and silver powder. The long luminous-coated Javelin hands make this model distinctive from other Parmigiani Fleurier watches and bring the dial to life without disturbing the understated aesthetics of the watch. The Arabic hour numerals are in an elegant, vintage-inspired font that is perfectly legible. The date appears in a curved aperture at 6 o’clock and the contrasting colors between the date disc and the dial adds character to the watch. The movement of the Toric Chronomètre is visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. The watch comes with black alligator strap made by Hermès and a matching gold ardillon buckle. The rose gold and white gold models both are priced at $18,500.
